As a worship leader, singer/songwriter, she has recognized first hand that the world is less likely to listen to Christian and Gospel music that is regarded as “Churchy”. With that in mind she has made it her goal to reach the mainstream music generation, which is lacking morally sound content musically. In addition to this Laura J is adamant about being an example for the current generation of little girls and young women today who have a limited selection to choose from in this day and age.
Possessing one of the most innovative and intriguing blends of R&B, Soul and even contemporary influences in her music, you cannot help but listen when you hear her. She has a way of taking her listeners on a heartfelt and soulful journey that will leave you refreshed, rejuvenated and wanting more. This is truly Inspiration at it's best!
Using an accumulated number of painful life experiences Laura J can relate to people on so many levels. Placing God in the forefront, Laura J's ambition, creativity and passion for music was set from the beginning. Immersed in the vocal genius of Lauryn Hill, Aretha Franklin, Mary J Blige, CeCe Winans, Brandy and Mariah Carey, Laura was vigilantly driven into the world of music. Also, staying in tune with other sounds of today, Laura keeps her ears inclined to the diverse styling of Mary Mary, Aaron Sledge, Brandy, Jill Scott, Natasha Bedingfield, Michael Buble, Stevie Wonder and India Irie.
Laura J is in this to bring the art, love and power back to music and will not make it a means to be popular and rich. Music transcends culture, race and religion and changing lives is more valuable than gold, silver or anything man can give. That's real.
Writing her first song beginning at age of 12 was a virtual escape from some of the darkest realities of life. But Laura has now revealed that which God had hidden for a short time and is burning with a zeal for meaningful music that has been brewing in her soul.
Aiming for an exceeding platform worldwide to deliver a message of encouragement, change, reflection, as well as songs that deal with hardship in life and benefits of joy, Laura J is predestined to impact the music industry and she will not stop until she gets to where she is going. Longing to be where God wants her to be is her greatest desire.
This music is immensely thought provoking and will make you dance, laugh, cry and most of all make you FEEL. Her ability to move a live crowd and abducting them into her world is only a small part of what makes her delightful to see for yourself. This is not a girl who just sings for attention. The inspiration God has stirred inside of her is what she wants the world to possess.
